Medicinally, calendula soothes the digestive tract and mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, so is used for indigestion, ulcers, gastritis, and inflammation.
Often called 'liquid sunshine', calendula's peak harvest time is mid-summer in the mid-afternoon, when the full force of the summer sun is truly captured in its sweet orange-yellow face.
In our household, it's utilised to neutralise the winter blues because it feels like sunshine on the inside!
All our plants. flowers and herbs are sustainably harvested from our spray-free native/food forest on the Banks Peninsula, New Zealand/Aotearoa.
